    I dunno. It seems to me that the average person is pretty content with not knowing much. And maybe they're right. I've been a semi-intellectual my whole life and I'm not necessarily better off than many others in relationships or work. But I get his point. And those who boast of these things had better not complain if they pay consequences.

    unfortunatly true. my dh was talking to his buddy who is a high school teacher and they have problems where the students are several levels below their grade level and as long as they are not required to do make up work they dont care.
