productive day

Today has been a good day overall. I stayed within my calorie limit, kept fat, protein and carbohydrates in good balance, and got my exercise in. Hooray! I had more time today so did more on Sparkpeople - looked over message boards, commented, did some reading, and felt even more solidly settled into the routine I know will help me improve my healthy living habits.

Just before I came upstairs to write this blog and to do my final meal entry, I walked over to the refrigerator and opened it. I suddenly recalled myself and saw I had mindlessly opened it up just about an hour after dinner, and fortunately recognized that I was responding to my old habit.

After recognizing that, I realized I was just thirsty, so got some water - and had a satisfying entry into the Sparkpeople water count.

For dinner tonight I made goulash with round steak, onions, and tomato juice with some paprika and salt. I served that over polenta (no butter or oil) with green peas. Ther is leftover polenta, and I will have some of that with an egg for breakfast instead of buttered toast. Planning tonight will help me tomorrow. Hooray again!
I have a week between terms, so maybe I'm more relaxed, but this is feeling GOOD! emoticon
