This week was rough, especially with Easter coming up. The Easter treats have started at work (Cadbury mini eggs in the staff room), and I have been doing some baking of my own (bread and meringues gifts). I have been "taste testing" traditional Easter foods that were meant to be gifts.. a bread and sugar hurt my stomach sooo much since I have IBS.
This week was a very low self-discipline, high calorie time for me. I am taking the Spark People "Curb your Sugar Tooth" Challenge now, and am hoping to turn things around this week by eating more fruit and veggies, waiting cravings out, eating way less carbs, starting my day with oatmeal instead of toast and jam etc. I also hope to replace some of my bad snacking with short brisk walks..
I love baking bread, it is one of my favourite things to do but I just want to learn how to eat in moderation. Save one bun for dessert, enjoy it, and then give the rest of the batch away, freeze them etc. I wish I could just say "no" to number 2, 3, 4- 10 additional treats. Overindulging just hurts my body and makes me feel bad about myself.
