While watching one of Chef Meg's videos, she introduced a product which I'd never seen before -- a tube of sun dried tomato paste -- and suggested it is useful when you need to thicken up a sauce a bit. I happened to see this in our local food co-op and decided I'd buy some and give it a try. On Sunday I threw together a dish using whole wheat penne pasta, grilled chicken, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms and a little bit of chicken stock. I then added some of the tomato paste to thicken and give more flavor to the sauce. It tasted good, but I thought the tube was a bit expensive for the small amount. I probably won't buy it again, but just use regular tomato paste when I need it. With that said, it's now on to something new in Week 13 and I've already decided what I'll be tasting next!
