Right behind the suburb where we live is Point View Reserve. I took this picture to the houses so you can’t really see the valleys and all the trees in the photo. I just wanted to show you how close it is. In this photo you can see how dry it is here in Auckland. Usually all the brown grass is a wonderful green.
It is impossible to show you all the stairs but here are some photos of the 762 stairs going one way and then of course should one turn around it is another 762 stairs. It is a really good workout for the hart and the calf muscles.
In the bush it is lovely. There are also the Silver Fern and the Nikau Palms and many other species of plants. I love the coolness of the bush. The streams are now very dry.
Here is a photo of the underside of the Silver Fern and it is easy to understand why Maori in the old days used the fern upside down so that the moonlight will reflect on the silver underside so that they could find their way in the dark.
We have been walking this track many, many times. There is another track that we have been walking many times before. It is now the 4th time in 8 years that Mr. Roelf lost his job due to restructuring. So, on this road we have also been many times. We prefer to use the wisdom gained and to trust that every thing will work out. Like the silver leaf at night we will be guided by our inner will and strenth to survive and thrive.
