Made It, But Another Threat Tonight

Monday, March 25, 2013

Temperatures dropped only to the low 40s last night, but tonight's forecast is another one for the low 30s.

Hope that my freshly planted tomatoes feel like shaking their fists in the face of the cold weather....

Here we go again with unpredictable Texas weather!

Hope they make it through the night!
Mid - 90s last week and now freezing. Maybe this is the last of the cold weather.

We were just at freezing in Fort Worth this morning ..

Garbage bags should work (or did for me in the past) .. just remember to take them off before the sun gets too far up tomorrow unless you have holes for the air to circulate

Can they be covered up to keep the cold out? Tomato blankets?

Obviously a comment from a non grower!!!

I've heard that some people cover their tomatoes with clear plastic and put straw around the base to help protect them...(lock in warmth)
