blogging like crazy

Monday, March 25, 2013

so, i figured out that blogging every day is helping me keep on track. so far all of the changes that i have made are still concious efforts. the only thing that comes second nature is drinking lots of water.

so, yesterday i had the most awesome workout i had in a while! i did the alternating running and walking like normal but was able to run more than normal. i did 2.5 miles in 45 min, that included the five min warm up and cool down walking. i actually managed to jog for three whole min at a time! i was so excited if i hadnt been so out of breath i woulda kept going. i beat my last mile by almost three full min!, it now takes me 17.40 min to jog/walk a mile. my 1K time was 10.14, it was fun to try and beat myself lol. i actually got sick to my stomach! i know jillian michaels always said go till you throw up or pass out then keep going and i did, and it felt awesome that i was able to push thru that.

i also did some strength training like deadlifts squats tricep extension and bicep curls.

i felt sore within an hour after my workout when i laid down to rest. i still feel a little sore, nothing too too bad though. i was trying to figure out if i should work out today or not, i have heard your not suppose to while your sore and then i have heard you are suppose to so i dunno. mentally i want to soooo bad. it felt so wonderful, i still fell wonderful. a little sore in my legs and back but that is it.

i have consciously been eating smaller today too like yesterday. measuring out correct portion sizes and taking each bite slowly. it really feels like a lot less food is tiding me over longer too. i have ended up eating about every three hours but its been almost the same portion sizes that a child would eat and my body seems happy with that. no uncomfortable feeling, no munchies. if im hungry i eat. but i only fix a small portion and drink at least 8 oz of water 5-10 min before hand. its amazing really. my boyfriend made the comment that it looks like im eating like a bird and that all im doing is snacking. i had even packed my lunch today to reflect my (hopefully) new eating habits. i know it takes a while to make something a habit. right now i still have to think and emind myself to slow down, but hopefully that will change before long.

now to rest for an hour or so while everyone is asleep. i want to exercise so bad but i worry im pushing it too. i have to wait for my phone to charge up before i make the decision though lol, cant run without music ;)

It's okay to workout while you're sore. You shouldn't work the same muscles as you did if you're strength training. You should give them a day to recover. Our bodies are sore because we haven't used those muscles. As long as there's no injury you should be okay to exercise. I usually rub the sore areas with mineral ice or ben-gay before my workouts it helps a lot!
