I had a feeling when I woke up today we would have a delay. Sure enough I got that call just before I headed to the gym. Great! That meant I had time to get cardio in right after SWEAT!
SWEAT today was probably the best workout we did. Seriously:)
TRX jump squats
med ball slams
jump squats with #30 sandbells
Walking lunges with #25 plates over head
deadlifts not sure how heavy because I added a #20 dumb bell to the USB....maybe #60??
speed skaters (non stop-1:30)
Wall sits with stability ball held out front (non stop 1:30)
clean jerks...progress! #65 got it up 11 times! Last time I think it was 4 times and I dropped down to #45.
Then we repeated everything:)
Once I was done I headed to the treadmill. Since I did the stepper and rower yesterday, I changed it up for today. Incline on 10.5 speed at 2.5 for ten minutes.
After my workout I came home to find out we were closed today:) Time to relax!
I had time to read my new copy of WOD which is a Crossfit magazine. I came across an article about a man who was struggling with over head squats. I struggle with this move big time. Like I am still using the PVC pipe because I just can't get the hang of it. He mentioned mobility and flexibility training and how much it helped him. So after a quick Google search, I found some stretches. WOW! Some things were really tough for me to do! A ten minute squat. After three minutes I thought my calves were going to burst into flames! It felt so good to stretch though and I plan to incorporate these three times a week. Can't wait to see what progress I will make the next time we do over head squats!
