I think I'm up to Day 4 now...
What a weekend! Friday night, I headed to Kansas City, MO for Sweet Adelines competition. This is the final year for Region 7, so it was a bittersweet time. The chorus I sing with combined with the chorus I used to sing with to have 67 ladies on stage. We ended up winning the competition and will now spend the next 18+ months getting ready for International Competition in Baltimore in November of 2014! Lots of fund raisers in my future!
For the first time ever, we had snow on competition weekend. So, I had the "pleasure" of making my 3 1/2 hour drive yesterday with snowy, icy roads. I didn't have much problem on the bad roads, with the exception of a few spots. The road was clear for quite a while, so I had built up my speed to normal conditions. As I was passing a semi, I came across an area where it was slick. As I started to skid, my options were, Left = Guardrail, Right = Semi. I went for the left option. Thankfully the damage isn't bad enough to where I have to fix it this minute. I've already hit 2 deer in the last 6 months, so my insurance is going to skyrocket anyway. I'll wait a while before I fix this damage. I thought at first that I'd have to fix it now, as my steering wheel was shaking like crazy. Further down the road, I hit another slick spot and went skidding down the road. Thankfully I didn't hit anything that time and as I righted my vehicle, I fixed whatever was making my steering wheel shake. So, I'm good to go for now!
I'm hoping my "10-Minute Trainer" comes soon! It should be here sometime this week. Until then, I'll just have to come up with other ways to workout. I think I'll do Rhythm Boxing on my Wii tonight (since I've got a lot of stuff to catch up on after being gone all weekend) and then go back to HoopFusion tomorrow night. We'll see what the rest of the week brings after that.
Have a Marvelous Monday, all!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
