Semi Quiet Weekend.

Hopefully this is winterís one last punch and we can finally move on to spring! Woke up to about an inch of total accumulation split between ice and snow. Honestly I think it was more ice, but I am just going by what I had to scrape off the car. The first 10 years of my career were spent outside. On days like today I always wonder how I did it. Then again, those awesome spring days make you quickly forget the nastiness that is winter. Out walking in 64 degree weather after a winter of 20ís and 30ís soon has that cold fading from memory. I know soon enough this snow and ice will fade from my memory as the days start to warm up.
I have to laugh though. A local judge issued a warrant for the arrest of Punxatanny Phil for fraud since he predicted an early spring. I think they are seeking the death penalty. Last I heard the local Sherriff was searching the stations for handcuffs small enough to fit. The kids though are cheering for his escaped since they enjoyed what is probably their last snow day. Hope he didnít find keys to a white Bronco or I am sure there will be a slow speed chase. I doubt a groundhog can drive very fast. Unless he has been practicing on Need for Speed in his Bat Cave.
I smashed through the 50 pound mark this weekend. I am now at 53 pounds lost. It is pretty amazing how far I have come so fast. I have been starting to use some Spark People recipes for dinner. I havenít found one I donít like yet. Just tired of the pushback I am starting to get from those who are not watching what they eat in the house. I am the kind who will try something before I say I donít like this or that. The nice thing about what I am cooking is you usually canít single out a specific item since they all blend together. But when you mention a single ingredient and hear how yucky it is, I just figure you are trying to be critical. Although when I say I am making it for me and you are welcome to try it, but you are also welcome to have whatever you want to make the pushback usually stops. It is just funny when the person pushing back is one who insists that people should try something new if they decide to cook.
Well, I donít have much today. Pretty weak effort at a blog, I need a good funny one soon though. Just havenít come up with anything quite as good as the Kilimanjaro blog. I am sure something will come soon. I was actually sort of happy this weekend that I did not watch one basketball game. Sort of amazing since I think that was the only thing on TV all weekend.
