GIVING TO OTHERS
Some of us live paycheck to paycheck and some of us don’t really know how we are going pay our bills because our income is less than our outgo. God understands when we have very little but that is still no reason we can’t give to others. If we absolutely have no money to give to others to help them and we aren’t buying things we don’t need with our money, then there are still ways to give. When we open up and give our time and our talents to others, rather than constantly thinking about money, God will use us and bless us in our giving. We can also give to others by being a godly example to them.
Acts 20:35 “And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” (NLT)
Dear Lord, You know our situation. You know, at times, we don’t have a lot of money to give. We pray You will help us with our finances so one day we can give to others to help them financially. However, in the meantime, show us opportunities to give in other ways. And when we receive a financial blessing from You, remind us we are to give first to You and then to others who are in need. Thank You Lord for all Your blessings and we give You all the glory for them. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Giving is what is required for good living.
Financial abundance may not be for everyone but that is no reason that we can’t give to others.
We need to examine our spending and be sure all our money isn’t going to things we want rather than giving to those in need.
God can help us with our finances so we are able to give more freely to others but we have to be willing to give up a few things.
When we decide to give to others, we will receive so much more than we had before.
Luke 6:38 “Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.” (NLT)
