First Blog!

Sunday, March 24, 2013

Hi all! This may not be my first blog ever (I used to have a blog on Blogger, however I am really bad about blogging every day), but it is my first entry on Spark People! Woohoo!

I started Spark People about a month and a half ago. It's definitely been a huge help on my lifestyle change, and it makes it easier to log what I eat, my exercise, and connect with others who want to be healthy and lose weight like me!

Today, I swam laps for my cardio. It is a huge blessing that I joined a gym that has a pool. I have somewhat bad knees, so not having to do cardio on land is great! My goal with swimming is to eventually be able to swim a mile in my workout. Today I reached 1300 meters, which is almost there!

I also made a new dish for dinner. I made the Slow Cooker Creamy Italian chicken, and it is taking every bit of will power to not have a second helping! It's good, and I made it even better by adding broccoli to the crockpot at the end. It uses cream of chicken soup and cream cheese, but I used Healthy Request (which oddly, was better nutritionally than the 98% fat free) and a whipped cream cheese. It turned out to be around 252 calories per serving without the broccoli!

That's it for today, but I hope to blog again soon!

I find that blogging on here is a great way to get it all out and get support! I've made a lot of new sparkfriends that way. It's amazing what an encouraging comment can do to a bad day! :)

emoticon emoticon to blogging on SP! It took me about seven months to get up the courage to write a blog.
I really understand about the second helping! SP recipes are very good...having more just seems the "natural" thing to do. emoticon you resisted. You'll be glad. The tracking of nutrition and fitness keeps us accountable and that's very helpful for meeting our goals, of course.
Hope you'll keep sharing. Be blessed, Nellie
