Serendipity

Sunday, March 24, 2013

Do you remember the last time you laughed until you could laugh no more. For me it was watching "America's Funniest Home Video's" on TV recently. I think I surprised myself and I got to thinking about how seldom I had laughed lately. With the pressure of looking after Mom and feeling as if I don't have enough time to get everything done I realize I have missed this .

I think we women often get trapped in our cycle of routine and lose the spontaneity that children have. The video's that made me laugh were children playing without much concern for the messes and accidents they were causing. Children possess the secret of serendipity. "Don't worry , be happy"!

I need to turn life's situations into more fun and remember to laugh more, worry less and in general takes God's word and live it!

A Happy heart makes the face cheerful. Proverbs 15:13 NIV

I think that the reverse of the proverb is true too: A cheerful face makes the heart happy. (or something like that!). There are days at work I have to answer the phone with a smile plastered on my face just to get thru the day with a better attitude. Makes us all smile and laugh!

Laughing is good for you. I try to do it at work on a regular basis and make those around me laugh as well. My last really hard laugh was over something completely ridiculous and wasn't really that funny but it was exactly what I needed.

Laugter gets me through the day. I remember the first time I heard my own laugh after my husband's death -- I hadn't thought I'd ever laugh again. My laugh sounded so weird to my own ears. However, I've learned how much better I feel when I laugh. I've also discovered that while my son likes to tease me about my laugh, it makes him happy knowing that I laugh. Keep laughing -- it truly is good for the soul

Laughing is good for the soul. I love to laugh. I travel sometimes just to see comedians to laugh and have a good time. Always makes you feel better.
