Joining a CSA for organic, fresh produce

I think this is going to be the year I join a CSA (community-supported agriculture). Back as an undergrad at college I used to occasionally volunteer at one with some friends, and on the days we volunteered they always allowed us to take home some veggies. So even though I wasn't a real member, I got a taste of how awesome they can be -- that year I tried several new vegetables that I hadn't even known existed! It was fun to taste new things and try out new recipes.
I've been looking into our options in our new neighborhood in Jersey City, and to my delight there are actually a few to choose from. It's kind of a lot of money to put down upfront, but it works out to be a pretty reasonable weekly cost. Especially because my boyfriend and I are vegans, so we wouldn't have to buy much else to supplement the weekly share.
I think it would be really good for us. While we do eat a lot of veggies, we could always do better. What better way than to be committed to receiving a large batch of assorted vegetables every single week?
