An apple a day...

They say that an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Well, for me it goes beyond that.

Weight watchers says that all fruit and vegetables are zero points value now. What they fail to mention is that apples especially have natural sugars in them.

I know they are good for you, but, like the CEO of weight watchers says in his book "weight loss boss" don't need to go all "fruit bat" and eat five in one day.

I am guilty of this and have done it many times and I think that along with other reasons is why I am NOT losing any more weight.

So starting this week I will NOT buy any more apples and instead need suggestions for fruit?. I like things that are crunchy and somewhat sweet...but, your suggestions, I need to watch the sugar content.

    I love apples. I follow the SW eating plan and have had 5 apples in a day (they are my favourite!) and still lost weight.

    Melons are very good for the body especially if you have over indulged.

    I also like pineapple, plum and grapes. Crunchy peppers and cucumber can be part of your five a day too.

    All fruits have natural sugars in them...but our Leader has challenged us to have 1 more fruit, veggie&protein daily and we track it and the weight loss totals have been over 100 lbs for both mtgs that she holds which there are about 80 total. So we do go all fruit bat and eat more then 5...

    I don't worry about natural sugars. i worry about the artificial sugars and overeating sweets. a raw apple can take up to an hour or longer for me to eat at my desk during a work day.

    I would say grapes, peaches and necterine are some of my favorites. plums are good too.

    Hmmm, oranges are good right now but they aren't crunchy. I just put out a bowl of bananas, plums, oranges, apples and pears. All have sugar though. I also enjoy all kinds of berries but they aren't in season right now so I buy frozen ones (that are unsweetened). Pineapple and grapes are good too. And my favorite fruit is cherries but oh, they are soooo very expensive when they are in season!
