Day Fourteen: Walk at the Beach
Saturday, March 23, 2013
The visiting relatives had us a tad stressed out, so Jeff and I sneaked out to take a walk on the beach. Above is a photo of the beach and boardwalk here in West Haven, Connecticut. I LOVE walking here! The approaching figure in the red jacket is my husband and you can barely make out our loyal hound---Zeke!
Whole Foods sells these organic baby greens for sauteeing and man, are they ever good! I had these for dinner with some protein and they are now a favorite around here! I added some mushroom, onion and garlic and sauteed them briefly in olive oil and a sprinkling of celtic sea salt.
Today was the second day in a row that I feel pretty darn good. The walking was easier. Just in general, moving around is easier. I feel like I've turned a corner where good health is in sight and attainable, instead of it being an impossible dream.
My son and baby grandson are leaving tomorrow and it will be bitterweet. I'm sad that the baby isn't growing up nearby, yet we already care for two and have limited time for ourselves as it is, so.....maybe it's for the best that they don't all live close by. LOL
