I Wanna Quit

Saturday, March 23, 2013

I've been working my butt of in the gym and trying to improve my eating habits but it isn't enough. It's been over a month and my weight is still up and down I started at 205 then went down to 202 then up to 206 now I'm between 201-203. This sucks!!!!

I want to give up and just be fat. It hurts that I am working this hard and nothing is showing. Yes I seen a little progress but I'm disappointed. I tried to lose weight last year and in two months I had lost 10 pounds. Why is this time different? The only difference is the time of day and I'm doing more exercising this time around.

I know I shouldn't quit but this is pretty discouraging emoticon emoticon

Sparkers, what should I do?

You will lose the weight just don't give up!!! Stick it out. Your break through is coming soon. I know that is easier said then done but your on the right track. I would suggest more fruits and veggies and water. maybe readjust your calorie intake requirements.
Your doing such a good job just dont give up. emoticon emoticon

I try and avoid what I call white starchs.
No white rice, bread and only a small amount of potatoes.
I actually have given up bread all together except the flat bread that subway uses when we get a sandwich there.
Mostly veggies and fruit with a small amount of meat for protein.
Keep up the good work. You will get there.

Don't give up!!!! I have had these moments as well where I have worked my butt off and gained weight or had no results at all! Then I had weeks where I was sure I had gained, but had actually lost!

If you are just getting back into the swing of things, it may take your body a little while to adjust. Being that you are doing more exercises than you had before, you could be building more muscle. And Muscle weighs more than fat, but muscle is great -- it helps you burn the fat away!

Also, I have found that even though I had kept within my calorie range and drank at least 8 cups of water per day, the amount of sodium I had eaten was very high! You may want to change your nutrition tracker to track how much sodium you are eating throughout the day. too much sodium makes you retain water which could explain the lack of results on the scale.

LASTLY and probably the MOST important thing I have learned and struggled with since I have been on Spark not focus too much on the numbers on the scale!!! I cannot tell you how stressed and depressed I had gotten when I first started this journey. I finally had a team member tell me to stop stressing over the numbers on the scale and to try another means of measuring your weight loss. Try taking your measurements and see if anything has changed there. You may be very surprised!!! Also, try to think about how you are feeling throughout the day? Are you more energetic, etc? This journey is not just about the weight loss, but making ourselves healthier also!

Sorry this is so long, I have just been there before and was so happy that someone explained all this to me so I wanted to share it with you!

Hope you have a great weekend!!!
