Do you kind of go crazy on the weekends? I'm so religious with my salads and baby carrots during the week that I feel that I can reward myself on the weekends. Last night (Friday), I went over my 1500 limit by about 50 calories. I think that went pretty well.
But how do you stay within reason when invited to a fish fry? How can a word as small as 'fry' be so calorie laden! Yes, a friend had a fish fry today at lunch. I ate with reason and still bagged in at over 1200 calories for that one meal! But I have to say that it was definitely delicious, along with the four hush puppies and three corn nuggets. Hopefully, tomorrow won't be as tempting and I plan on being very good tonight.
Eating the fried foods really made my tummy feel like I'd swallowed bricks afterwards, though. If I listen to my body, it will tell me when I ate poorly. A wonderful Shaman/Healer once told me that the Native Americans knew what to eat and what to do for illnesses by listening to their inner voice. We have learned (In our "civilized" world) to ignore our inner voice. I'm working on hearing it again.
I've started wanting to exercise now that I'm seeing some progress by being able to wear some of the clothes that have been too tight. Hopefully, I'll be a healthier, leaner, but not meaner woman by the end of the summer!
