Miles to go

Saturday, March 23, 2013

The weather was halfway decent today, so I decided to take long walks with the dog. I ended up walking him a total of 13.4 miles all together. That was over 3 walks, though our night time walk was only 2.1 miles, so the majority of those miles came earlier in the day. We even had a little sunshine for our afternoon walk. In addition I used the rower for 35 minutes and did two SP videos.

Tomorrow I am going to have lunch with my parents. We are planning on having haddock, brown rice and lots of veggies. I suggested plenty of onion. I used to hate onion, and now I love it. I add it to practically every savory dish I cook.

Also tomorrow I am thinking I should do some errands. My dad will let me borrow his truck, and he will watch Cooper while I am out. My dad and Cooper are best buddies. Cooper actually listens to my dad... unlike how he is with me. lol

That's some walk !! My legs probably would have fallen off. emoticon
I use to love to walk, but can't walk that far anymore. Am looking forward to warmer weather, so the trail will be open, and I can talk the dogs for their walks.

You are doing an awesome job on your fitness. emoticon emoticon

Great walks. My dog is the same. When I call her she loos the other way and when I walk her she dawdles along. When DH talks to her she comes to him and wags her tail and if he walks her she runs along ahead of him. Obviously being mom carries no weight what so ever. LOL

sounds like you get lots done whether at home or on errands- I know you will log lots of miles tomorrow too. Cooper is a lucky pup- and your dad, what can I say- from reading your posts he sounds like a great man- no wonder Cooper heeds what he says- pup knows you turned out pretty good by listening to dad

Wow! Great fitness!! Thats a lot of miles on the little guy's paws! I enjoyed my 2 hour 20 min hike wih my Mom and Daisy through the snowy woodsy trails. Was our first gorgeous, sunny day in a very long time, temps still well below normal, but nothing so cold as we have gotten this winter, gives me hope we might actually get spring here lol. But the fresh snow fallen was gorgeous, glistening like little diamonds!!
Enjoy your lunch!

Lovely poem. Thank you for bringing it to mind.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
By Robert Frost

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Didn't get a walk in today, but got some errands done after work. Watching the Hobbit now- very good.
