ideas for small daily goals/tasks

Saturday, March 23, 2013

Today, I talked to someone who has similar health issues and we decided to encourage and motivate each other. We made the decision to make small goals called "Daily Tasks." We are starting out slowly and taking baby steps to regain our determination, fight our battles & live a healthier life. We each made a goal for today but I need more ideas and would appreciate any suggestions.

What are some daily goals you set? What keeps you motivated?

Thank you.

You are already taking the right steps! Having a support system is priceless.
What helps me mostly is to pre-plan foods. Have snacks in bags ready to go. Pick a day to cook most of your meals and put them in containers. Then when you are hungry all you have to do is grab and go. Also, keep your menu simple and try to have the same breakfast every day. It will cut back on the anxiety of what is there to eat.

    Some ideas I've tried:

Walk(or some kind of exercise) at least 10 minutes per day, do household chores at least 10 minutes straight, prepare a new healthy meal once a week, eat at least 5 fruits & vegetables daily, go a day without white starches (including sugar), have one meat free meal, have a meat free day, try a new fruit or veggie, try a begginers yoga dvd to improve on flexibility, try a new healthy snack, eat a piece of fruit whenever you have a sugar craving, start taking DEEP full breaths 1 minute straight to relieve stress.

Get up and move, don't park close to the door/entrance when I go shopping or go to work, stretch for at least 5 minutes daily, eat at least 2 fruits or veggies, only have 1 serving (such as ice cream, chocolate, etc.), get up without hitting the snooze button.
Hope this help. Good luck emoticon
