TurboKick can kiss my arse!!!!

Saturday, March 23, 2013

I think that is European for "backside". That is neither her nor there. Bottomline: I HATE TurboKick! I let a FB friend talk me into going and she didn't even show up. TurboKick is like TaeBo sped up. Everything was just moving too fast. I was by far the biggest person in class and I must say, I am not THAT big anymore. Half the chicks in the class were just wearing sportsbras and they had EIGHT-PACK abs. I am generally a fast learner but for the 25 minutes I spent in that class, I probably spent a good five minutes standing in stupor as everyone kicked, punched and spun around me, literally. This was definitely a class for the uber-fit and it requires a commitment to the class because these people have the complex routines memorized. Not my cup of emoticon .

I escaped the madness about half-way into class. I don't like feeling stupid and I don't like not being able to participate full=out. Prior to class I did some bicep curls, shoulder presses and squats. When I came out of class, I did 16 minutes on the treadmill but then I got bored because I didn't have my earbuds on me. I decide it would be a ST day. I do three sets of deltoid flys (50 lbs), 3 sets of chest presses at 50 lbs. I then did the hip adductor machine at 65 lbs. I finished that and did some quick shoulder work with some loose plates. I only burned 540 something calories but I think that was okay considering I did a lot of strength training today.

I like to finish my workouts with time in the sauna. The most ANNOYING guy was in there. First of all, I wish they had a rule that you can't bring equipment into the sauna because it is too cramped in there already. This weirdo has on a beanie, rainbow socks, and a damn bandana wrapped around his face! All you can see is his eyes. He has brought in those foam stability boards, medicine ball and something else I can't even remember. This guy is planking it out and then doing push-ups and then swinging the ball and situps and anything else you can think of that SHOULD be done in the gym NOT in the sauna. The WORST part is the whole time he is grunting LOUDLY and panting like he is taking his last breath. At several points I thought he was going to pass out. Myself and the three other women in the sauna all looked afraid. It was the most awkward thing. A couple of the guys in the room gave him the , "You are jackass" look. I just felt it was a bit inconsiderate and highly dangerous.

I am staying off of the scale until April 1st when the Move it and Lose It Challenge starts at work. Until then, I am trying to stay active. I don't anticipate much of a loss for the month of March and that is okay because I am feeling awesome and I know April and May are going to be stellar!

Goodbye chickadees emoticon emoticon emoticon ! Have a FABULOUS day!

I would have told management about him because I am sure there is a liability factor in that for the gym if he is in there doing all of that...plus it makes for a very uncomfortable situation for everyone else...

I am glad that you got your workout in despite the class....WAY TO GO!!! I am exactly like you when it comes to being at the gym without my ear plugs...I need my music!!! emoticon

Oh I would have had to say something at least to management. I know everyone pays but really! Some people just don't think of others. Glad you managed to get your workout. I hope we both have a huge success story Apri/May. I started a kickboxing class yesterday funny you didn't like your class and I loved mine. It's a bit advanced but I did my very best, hoping to get better.

I probably would have asked him to leave; if he didn't, I would have resorted to talking to management.
Good job on trying something new - and for knowing when it was time to head out and get a more effective workout when the first option didn't go so well.

Okay, I just have to say, I burst into hysterical laughter when I read the paragraph about the guy in the sauna. Too funny.

As for turbo kick, I have a lot of the Turbo videos and they are definitely a lot easier.

kudos for trying a new class and still going alone without your friend. The idoit in the sauna room I would informed the staff about the equipment, and hopefully they would have told him he would have to leave.

Turbo kick is like the sped up version of Turbo Jam and Turbo Fire. You might like the Turbo Jam (it's a lot slower but still effective) or the Turbo Fire...I'm currently doing the Turbo Fire and it's hard but I know it will be worth it....it's okay that you didn't like it....it's not for everyone....you have been kicking butt with everything else so stay on the grind gorgeous lady

Try the Turbo Jam DVD, it is the at home DVD version of Turbo kick and I personally love it! I do Turbo Jam on Cardio days when it is too cold or rainy outside. You can buy it off Amazon.com for a decent price (that's where I got mine). I'm so proud of you for trying something new.

You will have to post a few pics after your wedding day, I know you are going to be a beautiful and fit bride!

I can't believe that guy was doing all of those gym activities in the sauna. I think I would've had to asked him to leave.

Good for you trying out the class, but I don't blame you for leaving! I get embarrassed when I think people can see me in my apartment. The guy in the sauna sounds a little creepy and rude!

Good for you for trying a new exercise, but I would have been leaving with you! Even some of the Insanity workouts are so fast that I feel like I compromise form for speed, so I just go as fast as I can and keep my form. You are doing awesome!!! I'm so proud of you!

As for the guy in the sauna, I think you all should have ganged up on him and told him to go hit the gym and then come back to the sauna!!! Some people are idiots! emoticon

Proud of you for trying something new, even though you weren't a fan! I've been curious about that class, but I think I'll pass b/c I'm pretty sure I am way more uncoordinated than you! :D

You inspired me to take the dog for a 15 minute walk, and then dance around to Zumba music for another 20 minutes, even though it's usually my rest day! emoticon
