I have been on the road for 3 weeks straight. Do you know how fat and unhealthy one can become when you live out of a suitcase for 3 weeks? Trust me, you don't want to know.
I started off strong and somewhere between time zones and flights, I caught the "all you can eat" bug. She's a nasty little bugger and hard to shake once you're infected. After freezing my buns off in Anchorage (very lovely place aside from ice and snow), I landed in Daytona.
It wasn't very warm and it's hard to enjoy the sites from a conference room. Everything was great until I met the "Palmetto Bug" in my room on the last night. This was a flying cockroach that found his way into my room. I am just grateful he didn't start flying. The poor bellman had to deal with the bug and my histrionics at the same time. I think I burned 300 cals from jumpin on the bed and screamin' GET IT!!!!!!
I am desperately trying to get back into my routine. I went to AM Aqua-bootcamp and didn't drown so, that's promising. I keep telling myself that this is just a minor setback (OMG the pics from the beach are scary) and I am focused on getting back into my healthy habits. I am not falling off this horse Boo! I envision very tiny bikinis in my future or at the very least medium tankini.
I am going to spend the rest of the day cleaning and organizing so I can be successful next week. Preparation is everything. For the next week, I am the Comeback Kid. I am coming back to the healthy choices, fitness routine and laser focus on achieving my next level.
I wish each and everyone of my Sparklers the same! Time to get it in and make things happen. Whose coming with me???
So glad you are home safe and sound!! I do not do well when I travel. The first 24 (maybe 48) hours are fairly good then all hell breaks loose. "Another wine?" "Why, yes, I will!" "A luscious steak?" "Yes! thank you. And a decadent chocolate dessert with that!" If I traveled much, I'd be twice my size!!!! You're back on track!!!! YAY! 1794 days ago
I would have ran out of that room...but hey, you handled it. I don't blame you for being upset. Bugs are disgusting, except lady bugs. :)
I am glad you are getting back into the swing of things. Traveling sounds like it is both fun and stressful. Sounds more stressful since it's for work. Sounds like you are the comeback kid at this moment because you recognize what you have to do.
Welcome back to your REAL life girl!! I laughed hard at your Palmetto bug story. It's Florida's fancy way of saying cockroaches. I lived there for one year and let me tell you, that no matter how clean you are, they are there. And they are huge. I reached under my kitchen cabinet and there was this gigantic palmetto in a stored fishbowl. I dumped him into the sink with the garbage disposal going. He wouldn't go down. I was screaming and so were the kids. Got up on a chair with a broom (so I wasn't close to the sink) and finally shoved the monster down the garbage disposal. I don't think you over reacted at all!!! Have a sweet, joyful week, back home and preparing for that bikini!!! 1794 days ago
I can just see you jumping on the bed screaming "Get it!" lol ! You made my whole day! I want to see photos when you get in the teeney bikini! And I have no doubt you'll get there! Glad you're back, have a great weekend! 1794 days ago
You were in my state and didn't drop in to visit?? (Never mind that it's nearly 4 hours away.)
Hey, what are vacations for. I know, that's not helpful. But I believe you can do this, and the vacation was only a speed bump.
Palmetto bugs are, I've learned, the "clean" kind of cockroach. They don't carry disease, but, man, they are the size of a small car, and you don't want to just stomp on one because it will make a huge mess. I've never seen one fly, nor do I want to. Now that our house has been treated for cockroaches, we don't get palmetto bugs any more either.
It's been so cold around here, I don't know how you could stand to be on the beach! That must've been sheer determination, or the fact that you were used to Alaska weather. 1794 days ago
