Today I did my first 5k for the year...I only walked it but did it in 50 mins...which is about what I was shooting for. I'm hoping to do another one in April and hopefully do the "Walk Wisconsin" 1/4 marathon in June.
Do have to say when I started out the this morning walking I was cold but half way through I was sweating. My legs feel like rubber right now but it's a good feeling and will worth it.
Now I just need to pick up my pace and maybe add a little jog into it.

To pick up your pace with some jogs, when you're out for your walks and feeling great, pick a landmark...a tree, a mailbox, whatever and tell yourself to jog to that point.....if you find yourself breathing too hard or struggling, slow it down and when you have recovered continue on....maybe the first time you try this, you will need to quit and walk...but every time you try it you WILL be able to go further and the day that you do it without dying, LOL, you will feel as though you crossed another finsih line!
