Mending Well

Saturday, March 23, 2013

It has been nearly three weeks since my accident and I would say I feel about 90%. There is still a slight lingering pain in my musculature of the back, but it's almost gone.

On vacation, I managed to walk the beach daily, from 30-45 minutes each time. That, combined with eating in moderation, has equated to a 2.4 pound weight loss! YAY!! I am going to try to keep that momentum in my favor while I convalesce for my final week.

Decisions were made while at the beach concerning my employment. I have decided to quit working there for pay and hopefully return to volunteer status. My employer is exempt from carrying worker's compensation insurance due to being a non-profit. In a nutshell, any injury I incur will result in gnashing of teeth to just get my medical bills paid. So far this process, just to get $180 reimbursed has been a nightmare. My attitude has devolved and I am angry about the position they have put me in. We work in a job that has a high likelihood of injuries yet they offer us absolutely no protection!
