I've worked pretty hard the last few months to get healthier from my hip and back problems and it's finally getting better. I had lost 30 pounds before this and then my weight loss stalled for a long while. I am very happy that I did not gain the weight back and continued to do some activities. I am feeling much better and ready to make some more improvements.
Watching the scale doesn't work for me though. There are too many short term fluctuations. My goal is to reach a healthy BMI by the end of the year. It will take some work but I am not terribly far away from that now. From tracking my food, I have learned that I consume a lot more calories than I thought. I will have to get more disciplined on that and since I travel a lot for work, that can be hard but I can do it. I also eat when I get bored so I have to keep busy on the weekends.
I don't want to lose my focus on fitness. Even though I had to slow down for a little while, I can still keep up with my friends when we walk and I don't get winded on the stairs! I am enjoying participating in the walking challenges at work and plan to keep doing that. Walking is also helping my back and hips so there's even more incentive to keep at it.
