I had an Ironman training flashback as I worked out in the gym. I have lower back problems (L5) so I can't run continously for a long period of time. So I hit the treadmill for 10-20 minutes, then the cycle, then if the treadmills are full and elliptical. Swig water and repeat. An hour and a half later, I was amazed to be still going. Not a six hour bike ride, but the longest workout I've had since injuring my foot the other year. I also believe I have finally adjusted to the high altitude and poor air quality of Kabul. If you haven't tried them, try Playaway which is audio books you can listen to while working out. I zoned out listening to Rich Roll's book and am looking forward to my next cardio workout. I just got to the chapter where he's going to try to convince me of a plant diet emoticon
