For the last 9 years I have been a part of a local charity as a committee member, co chair, and chair. This week I made the huge decision to step down from the committee. To give a little background on why this is huge, I am a two time cervical cancer survivor. My little sister is a cancer survivor, one of my best friends is a two time cancer survivor, and I have numerous Aunts and Uncles who are also survivors. I joined to fight for a cure for cancer, it is a large part of my life. With the birth of my daughter just 3 1/2 months ago, who is a miracle because of the damage that was done, it has become an desire to cure cervical cancer. I DO NOT want my daughter to go through what her Aunt and I had to.

With the addition of watching my nephews I realized that I had no time to commit to this cause I have held so dear. I have been pulling myself to thin over the past few months and realized that I finally needed to take care of myself.

I have had to make similar decisions with all the things that I have going on. I know that it is hard to make that choice, but it is also important to take care of yourself and faily first. Maybe in the future you will be able to help.
