I just got in from my first night working as a DSP for my 18 year old son. It was a great night made only greater because I was getting paid to do it!
He had volunteered to usher at our local theater group's production of "To Kill a Mockingbird" so we reported and were given our usher assignments. While there, we found out that Monday and Tuesday they are having auditions for their next production taking place in early May so we made plans for another outing Monday after we do college visits. The play lasted 3 hours and it was an EXCELLENT show! I don't think I've ever seen the Gregory Peck movie version, but this live stage version was so well done. After the show, we talked a lot about racial equality and how different things were in 1935 vs today [or at least how different it should be!] Finally, we stopped at Walmart to pick up a few things before heading home.
On a less positive note, I've been dealing with a lot of migraines lately and the medication has kept me pretty well exhausted! I haven't taken much time to workout although I did get 25 minutes of Leslie Sansone done at our church Fellowship, Fitness and Fun on Wednesday night and also walked 2 miles all over Fairland on Sunday while my son was at youth group. I will definitely get another 2-3 miles in tomorrow a.m. so that will be 3 days that I worked out this week. Yes, it could be (and should be) more but it isn't too terrible! I haven't been charting my food very well either so I doubt I've lost any weight and may have even put on a pound or two. I have a doctor's appointment next week so we'll see.
Tomorrow is our church Easter Egg hunt and we're also planning on going to the library to pick up a copy of the audition script. Sunday we have Palm Sunday services and then are going out to eat with my niece, her husband, and kids as well as my mom and step-dad. The boys are on Spring Break next week so we're going to try and do some fun things. For sure, I want to take the boys to the zoo because we have 4 passes that expire at the end of the month. Next Sunday we'll have Sunrise Services and I expect there will be some family visits as well. I think this is the last break before graduation; only 9 more weeks until school is out and my son is no longer in high school. I know that's a good thing but it still makes me sort of sad.
