Fried mentally...

Friday, March 22, 2013

Ok, the easy stuff:
I am on track with my food and my exercise. Today, I was a little more motivated to exercise knowing I only have one more day. I can't wait to get to the store and buy some food so I have variety again. This is the 3rd or 4th day of the same breakfast and lunch.
I will call my sister and wish her a happy birthday when I am done blogging. That's just the kind of day it has been.
I sent out a copy of my bill of sale to the insurance company and they will reimburse me for my taxes and title fee paid. That will be the last part for them. yay.'
I printed out my grocery list and meal plan for the week. I was supposed to weigh myself today and then I was going to come home and weigh myself without all my work clothes(and boots) on so I could see my true weight. WELL>...that never happened.
Now for the not so easy stuff:
I got into work at 10 am and loaded trucks until 4 pm. Without getting too detailed, I had a driver speaking to me inappropriately and ended up sending him away. He did end up getting loaded and apologized, but I ended up talking to a gazillion people and had my plant manager and superintendent in my office at 8 pm. I clocked out after 9. Both the bosses that came in were there for me and the plant manager walked me to my car so that I did not have to walk by myself. Although, I got to the point where I was mentally fried during all of this, it was nice to know they "had my back" as well as my immediate supervisor. On top of that, word spreads, and I had several male workers(my plant is mostly men) come in and tell me the next time it happens just let them know and they will take care of me. It was so sweet I was actually a little emotional. It's days like these that I know I have a good job. It is the people that make it so.

Now, to call my sister and wish her a happy birthday before midnight. :)

In this climate you need to report infractions of any kind to get it on record; so other women perhaps won't have to experience the same kind of behavior.

By the way myfriend made over $2000 for the Backpack Coalation (it is really putting food in kids backpack - I had a misconception - so they will have something to eat over the weekend) and we sold Bose systems and high end stuff and well little stuff. We gave away lot's of stuff to the kids and neighbors too. And a great time was had by all. emoticon

I'm sure it's hard sometimes being in a macho workplace as a woman. I'm so glad there are people there who are willing to support you, it's so important for men to call out other men on sexist bs.
