Do you let the weather dictate your energy level?

Friday, March 22, 2013

I decided that yesterday I was being a pansy when I decided to stay inside because it was too cold outside! It's not like it was really cold out since it was probably around 32 degrees F. But I let the weather limit my desire to exercise outside and make me feel sluggish and out of sorts. So today I decided to put my capris (exercise pants) on and a couple of light jackets and started the day dressed to exercise.

It kept me thinking about my exercise all day and when I got home from running errands I got my iPod, gloves and headband, hooked up my littlest puppy in her halter and leash and we went for a walk. It's not like it was really warm today because it was probably only 36-38 degrees outside for a high. I just said "forget that" and got acclimated to the temps.

My puppy Mia walks so much better with a halter instead of a collar so we didn't have to start our walk with a run like last time. We went 0.95 miles in 19 minutes, which is pretty good considering how often she usually stops to smell stuff! I think we'll have to walk by ourselves for awhile before we can attempt to go at the same time as hubby and Daisy. I think that this is the furthest we've ever been able to go on a walk so I'll consider this a PR for Mia!

I do have a problem with the weather and my motivation, but I think it's much worse when it's cloudy. I really don't mind the cold as much when the sun is out, but when it's cold and cloudy..... I know that I'm more than ready to see Spring come to Nebraska!

Yeah, when it's cold, I'd rather stay inside! Way to go on the workout. Have a great weekend!

Yes, I'm a baby. Cold weather and I'm inside. But at least I still get it done, even if it's indoors!

Alot of times the clouds and no sun contribute to an unhappy day. Good for you making the best of it and walking anyways.

I guess I let the weather dictate my outdoor time. But, not for me, I have a toddler that I don't want to be out in the very cold weather or extremely hot weather. I don't usually have a sitter for him.

I also have a problem with weather related depression. When you find yourself getting depressed, do something you enjoy. emoticon
