After a busy day I got home and walked the puppy with enough time to sit and watch Dr. Oz. Very interesting show. It was about a detox cleanse developed by a cardiologist. It had the same old pattern that many approaches to weight loss had with looking at people who had experienced weight loss. It is unfortunate that this was part of the focus. There were some good points discussed during the half hour. They discussed the importance of eating alkaline foods like greens and cruciferous foods. The foods that were to be discontinued during this three week cleanse were the same foods you would expect to see on many 'diets' (dairy, gluten, sugar, processed foods) The Dr. who wrote the book 'Cleanse' seemed to be focused more on elimination, gaining energy, sleeping better. Giving the digestive system a rest allowing time for the body to recover from dietary abuse was the basis of the program. It is beyond me why we are more interested in the weight rather than the issues that come along with the weight. www.doctoroz.com/videos/
