Not Every day is going to be great

So, I had 3.5 hours of sleep last night. That was it. Even after I had coffee with mom at 5:30am I didn't go back to bed for longer than 1 hour. I am sleep deprived today. A sleepy Gini is a lethargic Gini. So didn't go shopping with DH as planned. It was below freezing AGAIN with icy wind chills. I don't do winter! LOL I usually try to get my walking in in the morning but couldn't talk myself into it. DH and I watched some TV this afternoon, I NEVER do that. I hardly ever watch any TV at all, let alone 2 hours in the middle of the day!
We ate well and had a great snack of greek yogurt and cantaloupe . For dinner it was homemade turkey soup, a favorite. After dinner, I suddenly thought about accountability. I was not being accountable I was making excuses, so, I got myself up and walked for 10 minutes. I did it! WHoo Hoo. That is a big step for me. I would usually have an excuse for not doing it. I realize that nothing will change if nothing changes, so I changed. That's my excitement for today. I think it's really pretty exciting.Sure do hope for better sleep tonight.

    YEAH YOU!!!! Holding yourself accountable I hope will help you sleep a bit longer tonight... changes, you're making changes and your holding yourself accountable for them. I think that is wonderful GIni.

It's cold and wet here so my body has actually been letting me sleep for a good bit this weekend, I am looking forward to not feeling so sleepy! But I'll take the sleep right now .

    Hi Gini, I have to add you because i think you're so cool! emoticon Alot of my friends are your friends and I see you comment on quite a few of them, like Angela Ritter??!! Isn't she a hoot? I just love her like you do I know! Anyway, I had to come to this blog of yours because of you saying that not every day is going to be great. I can enter into that, but you sure turned your day into great when it could've been a bad one with not getting much sleep. I'm up several times a night and I can relate to being so sleepy and then caving in to food. Also with having RA and then they say that the meds. make you tired also, so it seems like Chronic Fatigue, but it's just part of the way the body works. Feel free to add me back! I feel I need lots of friends. I'm finding myself gaining and I hate that! Yikes! Sleep good tonight and I'll try to too!

    Hi Gini, I sure understand as when I don't get a minimum of 5 hours sleep that's when I usually overeat and feel like a slug most of the day. Good for you for getting your walk in. You are so right we have to make changes otherwise we don't change ourselves. Get a good night's sleep and I hope you feel energized tomorrow. I think you're doing very well. Good for You.

    I am sick of this weather too maybe it would be less bothersome if Easter wasn't next week. It makes me think it should be spring outside. Good that you got up and moved. I have trouble sleeping sometimes but exercise does make me sleep better. emoticon emoticon

    Your success was a BIG deal. I think that often the excuses start making themselves for us. Making a conscious change will help you succeed on your journey. Your title is true and not every day will be great but the choices we make can make it the BEST day it can be given the circumstances.

    Hey Gini, you're going very well! As far as sleeping goes, I totally understand. In the last two nights, I've gotten about 6 hours. Too much going on and can't get the mind to settle down enough to sleep. Why don't we both try being in bed early tonight and try to catch up. Sleeping is supposed to me so great for losing weight. Gee, maybe we can sleep for a week--what do you think? lol (hugs) Noel

    Good for you! It would've been so easy to not do it!

But, it still sounds like a nice low-key sort of day - especially with the weather! Nothing wrong with spending a couple of hours with hubby either!
