Celebration Overkill...

I didn't realize the amount of calories in a "healthy" lunch at a restaurant until I got home and tracked them all. How horrible! UGH! Well...live and learn! It was good while it lasted, but dammit...wont be doing THAT again! I ate almost twice as many daily allotted calories and my fat grams were three times the allowance! I haven't worked my tail off to throw it away! I know everyone deserves a reward every now and again...and THAT was my every now and again!!! FOR REAL!!! Rob, the girls and I are going to a movie tonight, but then I am bound and determine to work out tonight before bed. I still feel full and we ate almost 6 hours ago! I have drank a lot of water in hopes of "moving" some of the bulk of lunch. Thank God that was a reward and the crazy thing is...that's how I use to eat all the time. Three meals a day that way! God knows how many calories I was taking in...prolly close to 6000-8000 a day! Anyways...like I have said about a lot during this new journey again...live and learn...live and learn!!!

    But did you enjoy it at the time? Did you have a good time with who you were having lunch with? I'm not saying the calorie/fats/sodium shock was good, but you do have to live and enjoy it...trade offs....indulge now, pay before or after...It's the overindulgence that'll snag us. Life is for the living and it wasn't meant to be a tightrope walk. And, thank God, you have a conscience, so no big deal right..live and learn.

    It is absolutely true! I have learned that I MUST try to check the calories prior to heading out to a restaurant. Too many times I have had sticker shock when I got home and tracked what I had eaten. NO FUN! emoticon

    That is the bad thing about restaurants they have things listed as "healthy" and they end up being packed with sodium or they portray it as "healthy" and its loaded with calories. when going out to eat i try to figure out what i can eat but its still tough because there are so many menus for dinner and lunch i never know what they are serving until i get there. I just end up bringing my phone and looking up the information while sitting there. They should have to tell you how many calories are in it on the menu and they should be forced to stick to a normal serving size. its crazy how many servings you get in one meal!!

    The way i look at it when it happens is learn from it or just dont do it alot. Good luck!
