Whew Happy Friday.
7 days into my restart -- and I'm feeling good, and even a little less sore today finally. Set to take a long walk tonight after work. I have good friend from out of town staying with me through the weekend -- so I'll have to be careful about wine consumption and calories -- but we are good walkers, so that should help keep things in check.
On Sunday I'll make up my eating and exercise plan for next week. That was super helpful this week.
After just one week I have noticed:
- Overall better feeling of well-being from eating healthy meals with emphasis on getting at least 5 veggies and fruit servings each day
- My skin feels better
- My ankles get less swollen at the end of the day while sitting at a desk all day
(I think the 64 ounces of water each day has something to do with the last two items.)
- I feel like my muscles are starting to wake back up and remember what it is like to exercise regularly and feel strong. Got a ways to go to get back to where I was -- but one foot in front of the other....
- I've lost 11 pounds so far -- I'll get the final count tomorrow morning -- for this first week, so I feel like I'm off with a jump start, which is really motivating. From past experience I know the next three weeks are likely going to be a lot tougher -- but I'm am focused and motivated to make it happen.
Weekend walking (6 miles) planned for tonight after work and tomorrow. I've got healthy meal options available and will be doing my best to stay on track with the calories. House hunting tomorrow (open houses) -- should be fun too. I'm not looking to buy for probably another 6 months or so, but it's good to start getting an idea of what the property values are like in different parts of town.
Okay -- hope everyone is having a great week and is ready for an awesome weekend!
