Let's Make A Deal

It's almost time to get off work. My husband wants to know what's for dinner. I've been trying to look at recipes, but I'm not really in the mood to try something new and healthy tonight. I've been doing well the past couple of days (better than months prior anyways), so I really don't want to "fall off the wagon" so early. So, I started looking on the message boards for help. Came across some interesting posts- most people start eating healthier by making small choices, not doing a complete 180. So, I've been drinking nothing but water this week and now easily getting down 8 glasses a day, I've turned down chocolate cake and fast food (5 days this week!). It's Friday night, I am tired, I have a long weekend ahead, studying to do, a careplan to work on, and getting prepared for next week. I'm thinking instead of feeling down and beating myself up, I'll make a deal with myself- We can eat out tonight one 2 conditions- 1. I don't eat as much as I normally would and 2. I still do my exercise before eating (even though I'm tired, I know I need it). Sound fair? We'll see.

    Well because of time, my husband decided to go to Freddy's Frozen Custard to grab dinner. I ate a cheeseburger and half of my fries (gave the other half to my kids) and gave the soda to my husband, drinking water instead. I worked out while he ran to get the food, so it worked out.

Those are great ideas about eating out!! I'll have to keep them in mind in the future!

A couple of links to check out before you head out to eat!! One of the best tips is to ask the waiter to bring you a to-go box when they bring your food, and before you take a bite cut the entree in half & put half in the to-go box. Out of sight, out of mind and you get to enjoy it again in a day or two!

Another idea is to share a meal with your spouse or dinner date. My husband & I try to do that, because neither of us needs a full restaurant serving!
