I can't believe how easy this has been. Back in 1999 I tried a very balanced way of eating...as I knew it at that point. I ate whole grains, protein (mostly animal and some plant), veggies and fruit for all meals and some veggie based snacks. I was seeing good success until the emotional issues started popping up. 14 years later my understanding has improved and I am still basically following that plan with the exception of animal protein...for the most part. I don't miss miss meat and eggs. Even cheese has taken a backseat and I don't miss it. I have been eating a small amount of dairy here and there, but not like I use to eat, and I'm exercising 4-5 times a week. I'm eating until I'm satisfied, and sometimes more. I'm dropping 1/2 pound nearly every day. Even on not so good days. It's crazy! 5.4 pounds in 18 days. It seems that insulin resistance is improving. Just wish my bp would join the club.
(If I don't count the week the kids were here...5.4 pounds in 12 days.)
