Gluttony Running on the Treadmill

Friday, March 22, 2013

By Laura Moncur

I found this animated GIF at this summer and I just LOVE it!
(This won't be animated because SP doesn't allow that so you have to use your imagination and think of him running emoticon )

This scene is from the movie, Burn After Reading. I HATED that movie because of what happens to Brad Pittís character, but at the same time, I kind of liked it. I really felt each of the characters represented one of the seven deadly sins.

Brad Pittís character was eating ALL the time, so I really felt he represented gluttony. To see gluttony running on a never-ending treadmill really brings home the tragedy of that sin. In order to burn off the food, you must spend an inordinate amount of time exercising. This little GIF reminds me that itís better to get my gluttony under control rather than waste my life on the treadmill. I exercise every day to get strong, not burn off the food I eat.

It's a wonder how our appetites tend to "take over" sometimes...& reining it in is quite the big deal! Even more so, all the effort it takes in our attempts to keep it under control!

It's a never ending battle! emoticon

Good Blog...I especially like the picture of the person sucking the life out of you. Have a couple of those people around me...and I too wish they could take some extra pounds with them... emoticon
