Yeah for Spring

Friday, March 22, 2013

If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant." Anne Bradstreet

Spring is robin's singing from their nests up in the trees
Buds blooming into flowers for everyone to see
Hills uncovering their white blankets to find a green on still
Nature and her beauty has done these things for me and you.

A poem I wrote in third grade when the world was perfect and special, and a happy place for me. Before I learned that along with all that happiness sometimes comes sadness. With hope comes despair. and that after birth comes death.

No one knows why there is so much sorrow in the world or why life seems to get so hard. Why sometimes life sucks the living breathe out of you.

No one knows why winter seems so long and cold and harsh sad and dreary.

But we do know that Spring is a sign of rebirth . A sign of God's love for us. For with the horror of Good Friday, comes the joyous triumph of Easter.

In spring we seem to notice and are more joyous about a birth of a baby and wedding. And even the sting of death is just a tiny bit less painful when the sun shines so bright it can warm your soul.

So hold on a little longer ,I know the weather is bleak for many of you .But Spring is coming ,with its beautiful flowers and signs of love . emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

i think the best part of spring is the first day i can walk off the bus with no sweat shirt on. when there is the cool breeze but its warm enough that its comfortable. i think the spring time is nice because it starts to get warm again and i love the warmth

I enjoy all four seasons. In the summer I look forward to skiing and snowshoeing during the middle of winter. I am blessed that I live near mountains and not in them so I don't have the "joy" of shoveling snow, though I have earlier in my life. During winter I look forward to the crazy hot days of boogie boarding or surfing, or simply a good old water fight. Each season can offer us something different if we open our eyes to its gifts.

That is a beautiful poem you wrote Joanne.
So all you Northerners hang in there and you
will soon see a beautiful Spring emerging. We
are into autumn now and it is still really hot
but the nights are a little cooler. emoticon

I love spring but I am learning to appreciate the "down time" winter has to offer.
