So for the past few months, Thursdays have been a trap for me. I work in a cafe, I've mentioned the yummy treats that stare at me all day. It's even worse when your schedule is unpredictable, and you spend time past your normal dinner time, starving... bored... and alone.
Officially, today is the last Thursday I shall ever endure such, because my shop is closing earlier, and the reason I had to stay late isn't going to be showing up anymore. Overall, I am losing hours, but in exchange for those lost hours of job work, I can be doing school work, or exercising.
I did however... make a few mistakes today.
I explained earlier how stressed I was, terrified might have even been a better word to describe this week. The great news, I smashed my tests with amazing skill and precision! I expect A-B range! Woot!
The bad news... to celebrate, my boyfriend and I went to the Indian buffet. Granted, I got less food than I normally do, but I still expect it to be high in cals/fat. I marked down I ate 1300 calories. Also, in combination of sitting around waiting the rest of the night for my people to show up (Whom never did.). I ate a grilled cheese sandwich, and some cream tomato soup. Akk!
My diet was awful today, my exercise was negligible. However, I felt like a champ! I dominated my academic concerns, and said buh-bye to a bad situation at work.
I will not let this "Get to me" or "Be the snowflake that snowballs". Tomorrow it's back to the normal diet/eating. I won't have to stay late at work, and won't ever have to stay as late as I am tomorrow ever again. I also start spring break this next week. I'm considering a few goals and objectives for the week.
The first positive thing I'd like to mention, I downloaded an app today called Yoga Studio. A quick note about my schedule, I get up at 5:00 on MWF, and 4:30 TH, so I've decided to get up at 4:30 each morning, but the MWF will be "Yoga Mornings". The app allows me to schedule Yoga times, making it an appointment, and one that I won't miss.
The second positive thing I'd like to do, normally when I work out, I listen to songs on my iTouch, however, the same... 15 songs or so that have a high enough BPM to make me feel motivated an awesome... get really really boring after 5 weeks... So, I've decided I'm going to start watching TED talks while I use my elliptical. I may lose some speed, but at the same time, I'll be stimulating my brain.(Also maintaining my attention. It can be sooo boring.)
So one step back, two steps forward! (We don't hear that very often, now do we?)
