The Streak Goes On!

Thursday, March 21, 2013

Day 4 of tracking my food and beverages. I keep in mind I set the bar low, just track calories. I don't have to stay in my calorie range or pre-plan my meals, just consistently record what I eat.

Yes it's getting more routine. I am doing it the easy way and repeating some of the meals, or making simple meals. Last night I had steamed sweet potato and green beans, with baked salmon. I already had the salmon recipe in a grouping so it was quick to add.

Two nights this week I sat next to hubby while he ate microwave popcorn, once at the movie and last night while we watched TV. Before dinner he will have a beer or glass of wine and I have nothing, so I am not being influenced by his choices. However he eats whatever I put in front of him and when he cooks he makes something appropriate for my diet, so I am influencing him.

Hmmm.... and yes I am staying in my calorie range.

Funny how that even when we don't plan for it, we stay in our calorie range when we track our food. I find it very difficult to eat over my calorie range when I know I have had "enough." :) Keep up the great work!

Good for you. I'm glad it's working out for you so far....my DH was also influenced to start tracking and then later, exercising. He tells me frequently how grateful he is that I decided to start getting a handle on my eating and health, cause he likes how he's feeling and looking! Yay!

I'm tracking everything, but I've been (slightly) over my calorie range almost every day.

I am proud of your hubby -- and you need to tell him so! He's helping you when he cooks, and he deserves credit for that. Also, you deserve credit for not being influenced by him! Keep up the great teamwork!

This is a great streak to start with! You can use the information later to get more of an insight into your eating habits, but for now, just enjoy the sense of success!

If you find you are eating a lot of the same foods, you can make a food a "favorite" and then you don't have to look it up. I have about 20 favorites that I eat regularly and this helps me with tracking!

Keep up the great effort. You are doing a super job and will reap the rewards before you know it!

Good job! You're getting the hang of it! Having food groupings helps a lot. I eat a lot of the same stuff, so I like the feature where you can copy foods from one day to the next. You're doing great! emoticon
