The winter has stolen my mojo

'What winter?' I hear you say, 'It's spring!'

Hah. Not in the UK it isn't. We were promised 10C (50F) this weekend and I made plans to go away, and instead it's absolutely appendage-freezing, and the forecast is down to 2C for Saturday. 2C is 2C above 0C which is freezing in Cs.

So I was planning all kinds of things for the weekend including being very careful about what I eat and taking plenty of exercise and instead it's going to be the brr brr brr again.

I've been making bargains with the weather for weeks now (if it's warm I'll be good all week AND I'll go to the gym at the weekend AND I'll even groom the cats). It has only been warm once, so I haven't been good all week, not for several weeks.

Please please please can someone fix the weather? I'm really tired of itching everywhere because my skin has been dried out by the cold, and I wore my new frock at work today and it looks fab but my coat is so loose that the wind whistles right up it and freezes my doings. All these hikes I'm going on now, all I can think is 'this will look gorgeous in the spring'. It should BE spring, it officially starts today, and it's still SNOWING.

Is that the wind howling round the building, or is it the wailing of a desperate SparkPerson?

I'll think warm for you so you can take your fans on another wonderful walk. I'm in Phoenix Arizona and it has been in the 80F degree range.

You're a wonderful writer! "Is that the wind howling round the building, or is it the wailing of a desperate SparkPerson?" What an imaginative way to put in words the feelings of all us SparkPeople tricked by the weather's surprises. Or is it the change of climate caused by our civilization? Hope Spring will prevail soon. emoticon

I love a hot bath at bedtime in the winter and that leads to extrememly dry and itchy skin. I've recently been putting Tea Tree Oil in the bath water and the the itch seems to have disappeared. Might be worth a try.

I'm happy you looked so nice in your new outfit. Sorry your weekend plans are messed up by the awful weather. Do you think it's possible your cats made a bargain with the weather so they wouldn't get groomed?

I know what you mean - even here in Sunny St Ives - and I haven't even been able to get out and hula-hoop. Early nights, book and blankets are more appealing (and cats obviously - but I don't have one!) I like SunnyBeachGirl's plan - light candles etc - keep warm and cosy.

Same here - this year, winter does not want to go away! I feel like crawling into bed and waking up in June! But then I will complain about the heat and humidity... emoticon

YOU are NOT alone.............I live in Wisconsin and we still have over a foot of snow on the ground and temps in the 20s. Since Spring is my favorite season and looking forward to something is half the fun...........I am thinking Tulip-thoughts..... emoticon

We had a great weekend last weekend it was warm (upper 60s) and very little wind. It is suppose to snow this weekend and it's been windy all week. I hope we have more than one weekend of spring before it gets hot for the summer.

We had really warm weather last week but this week the winds are blowing and the temps are lower. And this time of year the winds blow hard! I'm so ready for nice weather too. Hopefully we'll get it soon

Shall I make you jealous? It will be in the 80s F today in south Texas. A little humid, but I'll take it. Don't ask me about the weather in August, though.

Spring doesn't hit Montana until about June....and then we head into the sweltering heat of July. LOL!

Hang in there--and if you can, try to find some daffodils...they're like a bowl of sunshine on my table! Love it!

I'm not sure why, but I'm finding it much harder than usual to patiently wait for Spring! I want warmer weather NOW. I want to be able to at least think about gardening NOW. There was a flyer from a local gardening centre in this week's local paper... I didn't even look at it... just snorted and put it in the recycling.

Last year I planted a whole lot of new tulips, and I want to see them, darn it!

Snow here again last night; temperature -2 this morning, and up to 1 predicted for the afternoon.

Take care... surely in a few more weeks we can get outside... into the mud... and then there will be something new to complain about!

I'm in North Carolina, and it was 28 degrees F when I woke up this morning. I understand completely. How can we catch spring fever when the temps are still below freezing? Here's to a little more sunshine!

I completely understand. It has been well below freezing at the kids' bus stop each morning and hasn't reached the freezing point for a high yet. There's still feet of snow on the ground and I haven't been able to use the park because of these cold temps, with wind too! Gotta love Minnesota weather!

I have a pile of snow outside my window that is almost as tall as me. I am 5' 6". I have taken to daydream vacations to warm beaches and lathering up with cream to keep me from scratching my skin off from dryness. At least the sun is shining even though we wake up to below zero temperatures and the days are getting longer. Hang in there just a little longer. The weather will change.

It maybe officially spring according to the calendar, but it's a little on the slow and low side of the thermometer here in Chicagoland too. So I try to visualize the warmth of 90 degrees in August.

Have a great weekend !

No snow in Georgia, but the cold snaps keep coming through. Spring is like a shy child, peeking out for a moment then hiding behind winter's legs. Over and over. You've got it much worse, but at least I understand a little of what you're going through. But we all know one thing -- spring will take hold soon! Hang in there!

Winter has stolen my "MoJo" too... It snowed here Monday, and Wednesday, and a little last night (I live in Boston)... The high today will be 40F, and we still have 6 inches of snow on the ground. It's 13F in St. Johnsbury Vermont this morning. Too cold to do anything I say... Sun, warmth, heat, bring it on!!!

I hear ya! I stopped wearing my winter jacket a month ago, willing spring to hurry. I clearly lost that battle. It is frigid here in the Chicago area as well. So yesterday I pulled out the winter jacket hoping to change fate. So far no good.

So let's get some indoor workouts in and be ready to step out in style when the weather warms up!
