HERE IS A POEM I WROTE IN ANTICIPATION OF SPRING

WONDER OF EARLY SPRING

Quiet!
Can you feel it?
Can you smell it?

See the icy glare,
true radiance sparkling with prisms of light.
Together, with joy in our hearts, we sing.

Final snowfall gently tumbles to the earth, touching our faces, then melts.
Warm snow-tears drip slowly, falling on thawing turf.
I smile, for it's been a long frosty Minnesota winter.

As winter whispers her final frozen gasp, hear the dripping of melting icicles.
Feel bare asphalt, a sun radiates its magic.
Time has come to put away sleds, skates, and winter coats.

Sky images of sun breathe new life into
ebony soil, replacing frozen layers of frost.

Can you feel it?
Can you smell it?

Soon, soft tendrils of lime-green sprouts,
will peek through leaves left from last year, welcoming Springs return,
like small children playing hide and seek, waiting for frost to hide its face.

Spring, so new, so green, dancing with sun in love.
Beauty sparks more beauty to come.
Promise of Spring sings its glorious synphony.

Tiny pink Crocus show your face.
You are the first boom to rise from the frozen earth.
Shout loudly, "It's time, I've finally arrived.!"

Yes spring has sprung once again.
Hearts glowing with new spirit glow.
At last, we've survived another Minnesota winter!
