My SO and I have decided that it is time to move in together. We have been "an item" for over 8 years now but still live in seperate houses. He will put his house on the market in the summer and when it sells he will move into my rental with me - along with his 2 kids - until we find a suitable house to purchase. His son is 17 and his daughter is 21 (she is mentally handicapped). They will only be with us every other week as custody is shared equally with their mother.
My house is small - only 2 bedrooms, one of which is my office/exercise room. This room will become his daughter's room when they move in. This means basically removing everything from the room - desk, tv, elliptical, mat, weights (you get the picture) so that we can put a bed, dresser and book shelf in for daughter. My routine will be in complete upheaval when this happens. I am up at 5:30 every morning and onto my elliptical and 3 days a week I do my strength training in that room. There is no room for the equipment anywhere else in the house and I am beginning to stress about what will happen to my routine.
And it's not just the exercise part either. The kids won't try new things for meals. They like hamburger helper (yuck), pre-packaged pasta, McDonalds, sugary cereals - all things that I won't touch.
I am trying to figure out what to do well in advance so that I can be prepared. Any ideas?
