I stumbled upon a couple of new post-workout snack ideas that really hit the spot this week. That's one thing I really enjoy about striving to be healthy - you never stop learning new things! New exercises to incorporate, ways to tweak a recipe, products to try, theories to ponder, inspirational people to meet, etc. Keeps things fresh and challenging.
Anyway, the first thing I tried was a new twist on one of my old favorites. I wanted apple slices in peanut butter, but I don't like how I always seem to have apple left over after my allotted peanut butter portion is gone. So I got the idea of using my PB2, but, instead of adding water per usual, I just put 2 tsp. of the powder in a baggie with my slices. Shake it up, baby, and I had a little bit of PB flavor on every slice. LOVED it!
The second thing I did was a variation on my favorite breakfast mush recipe. I took a whole banana, 2 TB of Chobani non-fat vanilla yogurt, a shake of cinnamon and mushed it all together. Got my portion of pecans from Scoop (see yesterday's post, LOL), and crushed them on top and gobbled that stuff down. It was delish! Tasted like a dessert, but got in fruit and protein and held me over until dinner quite nicely.
I would love to hear any other snack ideas that use regular stuff in a bit of a different way. There's always room for more yummies!
Happy Thursday, everybody :-)
