I have been doing some research on fruits and veggies to learn what is best for my combination of health issues (fibromyalgia + hypothyroidism + high blood pressure + pre-diabetes/insulin resistant)

Here is my ALL-STAR list of fruits:

raspberries

Here is my ALL-STAR list of veggies:
Artichoke hearts

rainbow chard
red leaf lettuce
romaine lettuce

spaghetti squash
summer squash
swiss chard

Occasional fruits-(higher glycemic/starch, but don't want to eliminate totally due to good nutrients)
apricot
emoticon bananas
cantaloupe
emoticon grapes (white or red or purple)
kiwi
mango
emoticon oranges
papaya
emoticon pineapple
emoticon watermelon

Occasional veggies (starchy, but too good to be missed nutrients):
beets
emoticon carrots
parsnips
emoticon peas
emoticon potatoes
emoticon pumpkin
sweet potato
emoticon tomatoes (there's debate in the fibo world about this one; causes inflammation????)
winter squash

Limited List (mainly due to thyroid issues) Eat only steamed or cooked or baked:
peaches
emoticon strawberries
emoticon broccoli
brussel sprouts
emoticon cabbage (green or red)
cauliflower
kohlrabi
kale

I have autoimmune Hashimotos thyroiditis and never knew that strawberries were on the occasional list! Oh well. That's what I shall do!

Grapefruit is another fruit on the "be careful of this" list. You shouldn't eat it within 4 hrs. of taking your Levo (or thyroid med). It decreases the effectiveness of the drug . . . and that includes grapefruit juice.

I appreciate this list! HGUS
