It took longer than I expected, but I met my 2nd goal today. I'm down 22lbs, half way to my (I think) ultimate goal of 44 lbs lost. I've been in my calorie range, and though my workouts tapered off a bit last week, I'm still finishing each day with a deficit. So.....why hasn't the scale been moving? Who knows. I get that changes aren't going to automatically show up on the scale, that any measurement taken on any given day is largely arbitrary, but it's still frustrating. I actually think something might be wrong with my scale. It's too consistent, when I know at least slight fluctuations are the norm, and if I step on holding something heavy and then try again, it will come unstuck. New batteries needed, probably. I can see the changes, I know they're there, I'd just like the scale to see them, too!
Onto the test. Generally I track food with a "bite and write" method. Dinner calories are based on what's left at that time. If I know what I'm having (like dinner out, or already in the crockpot), I'll log ahead of time. Yesterday, though, I decided to test my knowledge progress by waiting until the end of the day to log my food. And....(drumroll)....I passed! When all was said and done, I consumed 1284 calories, spot on with my 1200-1550 range. I don't plan to do this often, but it's nice to know I can do this even if I don't have constant access to a database of foods.
So now onto Goal #3. This one is only 7lbs away: my pre-pregnancy weight. I have been under this weight since she was born, but it seems a good marker of my progress since I so clearly remember being that weight. Next week is Spring Break with lots of time for working out!!
