Hello! I'm not a "diet band wagon" person, I try to live a healthy lifestyle full of exercise and healthy choices. As you can see from my previous blogs. LOL!
But I read an article about this 5:2 diet. The concept seems easy enough. It doesn't require special tools or gadgets or an eating plan...From what I gather, you eat 'regular' for 5 days, then on 2 non-consecutive days you are limited to 500 calories (for women), or 600 (for men).
I will tell you how this works out, I'll journal each day what I'm eating and when I'm eating it. Lets see what the outcome will be. I'm not focusing on the scale here, I'll let you know how this change in eating TOTALLY affects me. I don't know if I'll blog everyday or just on days after I've fasted...Well see.
So here we go.! Yesterday was Day 1.
For breakfast I had:
1c kashi go lean crunch cereal, 1/2c skim milk
Later in the morning around 10 I had 1c fresh strawberries
For what would have been lunch, I nibbled on baby carrots 3oz.
Now this was going really well, I was sipping green tea and water all day.
By 2:30 OMG the hunger pains HIT me so hard........so I broke out the sugar-free gum. OMG you never knew how good the juice from the gum taste, until you eat it when your starving LOL!!!
I knew what my dinner meal would be, and I could not wait to get home.
So around 5pm I had, a salad with: lettuce, 1c tomatoes, 1c cucumbers, peppercini's, 3oz grilled chicken breast, and 2 tbsp of Aldi Fat Free ranch.....
DELCICIOUS!!! Now this isn't too far from what I'd normally eat for dinner except I'd add cheese and prob olive oil.
I was full and content...Then around 7...Not sure if I was hungry or just needed a snack, but I opted for 3pc of sugar free werthers hard candy and a cup of tea.
Day 1 a success! I didnt work out the following A.M becasue I wasnt sure how my energy level would be, so I'll be working out tonite....Turbo FIRE here I come.
