Feeling much better after my little whine yesterday. I had a great workout last night with plenty of energy to make it to the end of the ride. It definitely helped get my mind back in the game and focus again. I also saw a positive movement on the scale for today and am back to my last recorded weight.
I think part of it is, I am one pound away from reaching the 50 pound mark. It isnít my halfway point, but it is a nice round number to guage my progress. I am finally approaching the weight I was about 2.5 years ago when some friends and I rode our bikes from Pittsburgh to DC on the Great Allegheny Trail and the C&O Towpath Trail. That was a pretty awesome ride. It was an experience I had never had, but would like to try something like it again one day. It was fun and me and the other 2 guys still talk about that ride. Mostly about the dumb stuff we did, but it was such a neat accomplishment.
That said, the C&O Towpath trail is not one I would like to ride again. It was narrow and rutted and muddy and too much like mountain biking for my taste. I will stick to wide open trails or roads thank you very much! One of my goals by losing the weight is to be able to do more things like that trip. I am hoping for a lot of riding this coming summer. The more I can lose now, the better the riding will be. I also need to find a good mix of riding the roads and using the bikes at the gym. I donít lose as much weight once I move outside and as aggravating as it will be, I will need to work indoors to keep losing weight.
Of course since it seems like it will be cold forever here, I may not have to worry about outdoor riding.
