Day 3 - Can't wait to get out of there...

Thursday, March 21, 2013

Yesterday was another trying day. Keira will just not settle in daycare since her favorite teachers left. She's acting like we just started going there (we started in September!) with the separation anxiety and screaming and crying. She cried so hard she puked. Ugh. I hope that the new place is a little better for her. But we just need to get out of there. Today is her last day. Her "old" teachers start as nannies on Monday and we start easing her into the new school on Wednesday.

I also had three clients come in for appointments yesterday and they all hired me! Whew, though a little nerve wracking to have all the added responsibility.

I tracked all my food and went over. It's hard to believe I used to track so consistently and pretty much always get under. It's easy to slide back into old habits. I also went for a long walk. And I joined a DietBet group starting next week. 4 weeks to lose 4% of my body weight. I'll weigh in on Sunday night. I definitely need the added motivation.

Think about the races you will run later this summer - that should give you some needed motivation! Glad to hear you got a walk today. Have you signed up for a race yet or not there yet? I am still in pre-contemplation stage but will commit soon.

I couldn't even imagine how hard it is to leave a crying child at daycare. Hopefully the new situation works out better for you.

Congrats on all the hiring! You rock.

4% in 4 weeks- you are going to own that challenge. I love that you started tracking now to get back into the grove. I'm sure you'll have all the numbers back in line in no time. GOOD LUCK!

hang in there - you've had a lot of changes that have impacted your life and lifestyle. I like the SP 5% challenges - teams compete against each other in a virtual race by posting exercise minutes=miles... The current one is 1/2 way through its 8 weeks - the next one would probably start up mid-late May-ish
In the meantime good luck with your DietBet group and getting back into the tracking
and Keira - be not afraid.. they all want the best for you..

Awww Keira :( I'm sorry she's having such a hard time adjusting. Hopefully the new place will be better for her!! Congrats on the new work too! Don't worry about going over a little when you're tracking, I have no doubt you'll get into the swing of things soon. Maybe the DietBet will be a good kick in the pants!

I'm sorry for you and Kiera and I hope this new change will work well for her. Praying!!

Good job on tracking. I figure even if we go over we can look at what we did and make adjustments if needed.

I heard about diet bet on Facebook. I'm also interested in doing something like this! emoticon

The mind is a powerful thing. And my problem is that I get so much into an "Eff Everything" mode, that even a 5% challenge is a chance for me to stick it to the man and eat my way around it anyway. I have authority issues :)

Sorry to hear about Keira! They do get attached to people like teddy bears don't they?

I do the 5% Spark Challenges and they really help me stay on track. Being accountable to the team for our progress makes me think twice when I make food choices and it keeps me exercising when I'd rather not. Good luck with your challenge and your baby care issues too.

Congrats on the new client and sympathies for the busy schedule and difficulty managing your menu. I'm sure you will figure out a way to make it work, though.

yayyy! Congrats on the new clients, K! That's great.

I am so sorry about Keira. Poor peanut. I hope she adjusts soon.

I am really proud of you for tracking everything with all that you've got going on, and for joining this DietBet! You will have to keep me posted on it-- maybe I'll join up next time. :)

Keep up the good work!

YAY for the new clients! :D

Agree that the motivation is good... my BF is in a 6-month challenge with a friend of his and they are both losing weight - about 15 pounds each in 2 months! Everytime he wants a treat or an extra serving, all he has to do is think of "Fat Richie" beating "Larry Pig" and he walks away! I have to LOL though because only men could be motivated by calling each other fat and pig!
