Pick Up Your Jump Rope And USE It

Thursday, March 21, 2013

It reads:

The Benefits of Jumping Rope

In just 15 to 20 minutes, it will give you an unparalleled total body workout.

A lot of muscles are being worked at the same time. This can create muscle tone and definition.

To make workouts more challenging and intense, you can use a weighted jump rope.

It enhances performance in any sport.

It’s also great for eye-hand coordination, lateral movement, foot and hand speed and agility.

It can be used at the beginning of workouts for a warm-up.

Passive rest breaks in between lifts can be substituted with rope-jumping sessions. This can keep your heart rate up and promote more weight loss.

Jump rope workouts can be effective in helping you lose weight and reduce your disease risk.

emoticon This exercise is unfortunately one my orthopedic surgeon said should not be done with a prosthetic knee. Perhaps I need a second opinion. Looks like there are tons of benefits.

I bought a jump rope two days ago. My family gets together on Sunday every other week. This past Sunday, someone had the bright idea to jump rope. Well, the kids got to jump for about 15 minutes before the adults took over. Running in, jumping, and running out is harder than I remember. But I did it! And yes it does work all parts of your body. I felt them all on Monday. emoticon

LOL - I did this between strength training sets yesterday morning. No real rope because my basement ceiling is too low, but I did the movements for 30 seconds - that is as long as I could do it!!!!

Ya know, I tried jump roping cause I heard about all the benefits & such. Well, I didn't do it very well...& it just wasn't as much fun as I thought it'd be, for me. It was hard on my knees, too! So I gave it to a girlfriend who wanted to try it!

The good thing about exercise, is that there's so many options! And we can try a bunch of new things...& stay w/the ones we like!!! Fun! Fun!!!

Unfortunately, I got rid of my jump rope, hula hoop, bicycle, weight lifting equipment, and roller skates. We have to know our limitations while recalling fond memories. emoticon Oops, bowling equipment too. emoticon
